EBOUE WANTS MATCH

The defender of Galatasaray, Emmanuel Eboue, has said that he wants to be included in the starting line up for the Champions League match against Manchester United which is going to be played on 19th of September at Old Trafford.

Eboue has quite a lot of experience of playing in English conditions. He served Arsenal for six year between 2005 and 2011, playing alongside both Patrick Vieira and Theo Walcott.

The Ivorian defender thinks that his experience would come in handy in the match against United. As per Eboue, many players in the Galatasaray squad haven’t played in England before and they are quite unfamiliar with the English conditions. So, it would be good for the team if an experienced player like him is included in the first XI.

Eboue had joined Galatasaray last summer after leaving Arsenal. Eboue’s tenure at Arsenal was quite successful. He produced some amazing performances for the Gunners. After Eboue’s brilliant performance in a match against Aston Villa in April 2006, Arsene Wenger had said that Eboue reminded him of the former Brazilian winger Garrincha which was a huge complement for Eboue.

The Ivorian defender had to struggle with ankle injuries in the latter half of the 2006-07 season. In May 2007, his contract was extended by Arsene Wenger and he proved the manager right by finding the net for the first time in the Premier League against Bolton Wanderers. Eboue kept on doing well in the next two seasons, but, in the 2010-11 season, his performance deteriorated and he struggled throughout that season. He was sold to Galatasaray in August last year.

Eboue said that he is delighted to be back in England again. It’s a wonderful place to play football. He has spent so much time playing football in England and he missed the excitement of the Premier League in the last season. The match against United is going to be a great learning curve for the Galatasaray boys and hopefully, the team would do well in that match.
