Emmanuel Eboue signed for Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray from Arsenal in a deal reported to be around €3.5m. The retired Ivorian footballer had spent the longest spell of his career at Arsenal before leaving for Turkey. Emmanuel Eboue spent seven years at Arsenal from 2004 to 2011.
Emmanuel Eboue made his Galatasaray debut during the 2-0 loss to Istanbul BuyuksehirBelediyesir on September 11, 2011. His first goal for Galatasaray came in the win over Genclerbirligi. Eboue scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory for his team. In total, Eboue featured in 31 matches as Galatasaray won the Turkish Super League title in his first season at the club. The Ivorian international won the first league title of his career as a professional footballer at Galatasaray.
In his second season in Turkey, Eboue helped Galatasaray to win the Turkish Super Cup following the five-goal thriller with rivals Fenerbahce. Galatasaray won the Super Cup via the 2-1 defeat of Fenerbahce.
His first Champions League strike for Galatasaray was a memorable one and it came in the second leg of the quarterfinal tie with Real Madrid in April 2013. He scored one of the goals as Galatasaray beat Real Madrid 3-2 at home but the Spanish La Liga team advanced after winning the first leg in Madrid 3-0 to move into the last four via a 5-3 aggregate win.
