Louis Saha reckons that Radamel Falcao is being correctly used by the Red Devils at the moment.
Falcao, who is at United on loan, has been given just 7 matches so far in the season and in most of those 7 matches, he has made substitute appearances.
The Colombia international has started on just one or two occasions in the Premier League. Some people reckon that he should be used more, but, Saha thinks differently.
According to Saha, Falcao is coming from a major injury and thus, he should be used smartly and that’s what Louis Van Gaal is doing.
Speaking to a television channel earlier today, Saha said, “The players, at times, get too keen when they come back after injury. They push themselves. They want to start every game, but, that doesn’t help. You need to take it step by step. You would gradually get there.”
“I can tell you that from my personal experience. It has happened with me a couple of times during my career.”
“Louis Van Gaal is very experienced and he knows how to use the players coming from such long injury setbacks. Radamel needs time. As the weeks go by, he would get sharper and sharper and when he reaches the fitness level that’s needed to play full 90 minutes in these high intensity Premier League matches, I am sure he would get his chances.”
“There is no point making him play for the whole matches and then losing him for another few weeks. He is obviously a fine player and the fans would want to see him play more, but, physical fitness is a key thing in football. You just can’t get through games with 90-95% fitness. You’ve got to be totally fit.”
This weekend, Manchester United will play against Liverpool and probably in that match too, Falcao would be sitting among the substitutes.
